Small Charities Week – 22nd – 29th June 2026

15/06/2026

This Small Charity Week (22–29 June), we are proud to be part of a national celebration of the vital role small charities play in communities across the UK.

This year’s campaign, Small charities. Big impact., shines a light on the difference small charities make every day, supporting people, strengthening communities and creating change where it matters most.

Islington is home to 2,479 charities and social enterprises, all working to support residents, tackle inequalities, and improve community wellbeing. Together, they form a vital part of the borough’s social fabric and local economy. This figure is based on data from Datawise London.

In Islington, small charities like ours play a crucial role in delivering vital local services, addressing inequality, and supporting the wellbeing of residents.

Small charities are where change really happens. They are rooted in their communities, responding quickly to local needs and providing support that fits real people and real places.

At a time when many communities are facing increasing pressure, their role has never been more important.
