Face to Face Advice

Volunteer Centre Islington‘s team provides face to face advice as to the volunteering roles available and how to access them. We can help people with barriers to volunteering find the right role and support them with the application and recruitment process. If you are over 16 years old and live/work/study/volunteer in Islington, we can help you.
You can start your online volunteer registration here.

Would you like to volunteer, but don’t know where to start?
• Talk to our team about your interests in volunteering.
• Register / update your profile onto our database system.
• Search for opportunities.
• Decide which roles you would like to do.
• Make the first contact with the organisations.
• Start your volunteering placement.

Type of advice
Drop-in session*: come on in and have a conversation with our team at our office.
– Monday & Wednesday from 1pm to 4pm

Forthcoming volunteering drop-in sessions: 4, 6, 11, 13 and 18th December 2023 & 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31 January 2024

Outreach: occasionally, you will see our team promoting volunteering across the London Borough of Islington. Approach us and talk about your volunteering journey.
Appointments: if you are unable to attend an outreach or drop-in session, contact us to arrange an alternative time that suits both.

Are you referring a person who might require support?
Volunteer Centre Islington recommends to book an appointment, which will enable us to do our best to accommodate your needs. Email us to arrange a day and time that suits both.

We can offer face-to-face advice at VAI, Hugh Cubitt Community Centre (48 Collier Street, N1 9QZ) or across the borough during outreach or events. Alternatively, we can arrange a telephone call or online via MS Teams.
