Newsgroup Guidelines

Welcome to all new VAI newsgroup members.

Hello again to all our existing members.

Voluntary Action Islington Newsgroup is the news and information distribution group for Islington’s Voluntary and Community Sectors. It’s open to voluntary and community organisations, small not-for-profit groups, and volunteers in Islington.

We thought it would be helpful to outline some guidelines for your emails.

Here are some suggestions on what you may like to post.

  • News is relevant to the Voluntary & Community Sectors in Islington.
  • Information on any up-and-coming projects or initiatives.
  • Training opportunities.
  • Events, workshops, well-being and activity programmes from your organisations.
  • Funding updates
  • Job vacancies, Trustee posts (for volunteering opportunities, use Simply Connect*)
  • Awareness campaigns you are involved with.

If you have new staff or volunteers starting and that could benefit from using our newsgroup tell them to join here

*If you are looking for volunteers for your organisation, upload your volunteer roles to Simply Connect. Anyone searching online for volunteering in Islington will get directed to the Volunteer Centre website.

We encourage groups to post their own emails, so that they will receive responses directly. You can do this by posting your email to:

If you want to reply to sender, please delete the email address so that the whole newsgroup does not receive your reply.

We expect our members of the VAI newsgroup to be respectful to one another.
