We are pleased to announce details of a half-day conference taking place on Thursday 13th March 2025 at the Great Hall, London Metropolitan University. 

Voluntary Action Islington has brought together a range of partners to deliver a conference on supporting the sustainability of Islington’s VCFSE, with a focus on Evidence, Impact and Social Value. Partners include: VAI’s VCFSE Advisory Group, Islington Council, and London Metropolitan, Sheffield Hallam and Nottingham Trent Universities.

Keynote Speaker: Victoria Lawson, Chief Executive, Islington Council

 Launch of the Islington VCFSE Leaders Collaborative

  • A new collaborative aimed at community leaders within Islington’s VCFSE sector. Help shape and participate in key areas important to you and the sector.
  • Learn how you can be involved in developing a new strategy to enhance collaboration between Islington Council and the local VCFSE, including updating the Islington Compact – a partnership agreement.

 Keynote Speaker & Workshop Contributors: Defining and Capturing the Impact and Social Value of the VCFSE sector

  • Professor Chris Dayson, Voluntary Action, Health and Wellbeing, Sheffield Hallam University.

 Introduction to Evidence Islington and How the VCFSE Sector Can Engage and Benefit from This Programme: Islington Public Health and Healthwatch Islington

  • Hear more about Islington’s exciting 5-year programme to build research capacity amongst residents and the VCFSE and help shape future focus on the wider determinants of health.
  • Explore your use of evidence and research, what your needs are in this area and see how the Evidence Islington programme can support the sector.
