Islington Council Consultation about child poverty strategy

11/10/2013

Islington Council have just produced a Draft Child Poverty Strategy setting out how they are going to work with partners to tackle the very high rate of child poverty in Islington. They would now like to consult with residents and partners on their approach before they produce the final version of the Child Poverty Strategy.

They would particularly welcome feedback from VCS organisations who are working first hand with children and families and are seeing some of issues and impacts faced by families on low income. They not only welcome feedback on whether the overall approach seems sensible, but also to gather any evidence / insight of emerging issues you are seeing from people who access your services which might indicate gaps in the strategy or the need to do something more or different.

A copy of the Draft Child Poverty Strategy, together with an overview diagram (providing a simple summary of the strategy), together with a questionnaire for you to complete can be found at:

The closing date for consultation is Friday 22 November 2013.
