Report on Substance Misuse and Volunteering Project published
Yesterday over 30 people attended an event organised at Voluntary Action Islington at which we presented the report about a project to engage people who were part of a substance misuse treatment programme in volunteering. The project was undertaken in partnership with Cranstoun drug and alcohol treatment service. The evaluation concluded that volunteering could be a valuable part of a treatment programme with benefits for all participants. An effective introduction and support for individuals and organisations is essential if the value of this approach is to be maximised.
