Every year, Voluntary Action Islington and Volunteer Centre Islington celebrate the incredible contribution volunteers make to communities across the borough through the Islington Volunteer of the Year Awards. The awards recognise the individuals, trustees and volunteer teams whose dedication, commitment and kindness make a lasting difference to local people and organisations.

Volunteer of the Year 60+
Recognising an older volunteer whose time, experience and commitment have had a significant impact.
Volunteering Team of the Year
Recognising a team of volunteers who have achieved great things by working together.
Young Volunteer of the Year 16-25
Recognising a young person who has made an exceptional contribution through volunteering.
Pat Haynes Memorial Trustee
Celebrating a trustee who has shown outstanding leadership, commitment and support to their organisation.
Volunteer of the Year 26-60
Celebrating an individual whose commitment and dedication have made a lasting difference.

Islington Volunteer of the Year Awards 2026
The Islington Volunteer of the Year Awards 2026 will take place on Wednesday 4 November 2026, from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. Hosted by Voluntary Action Islington and Volunteer Centre Islington, the awards celebrate the outstanding contribution volunteers, trustees and volunteer teams make to communities across the borough. This year's awards will be presented by The Mayor of Islington, Councillor Rosaline Ogunro.
Anyone volunteering in Islington, or Islington residents who volunteer elsewhere, can be nominated in one of the five award categories. To submit a nomination, simply click on the relevant award category above. All nominees will receive a certificate, with winners receiving a certificate and prize. The prizes are kindly sponsored by DoubleTree by Hilton London Angel Kings Cross, the official sponsor of the awards evening.
