Upcoming Mental Health training as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

As many of you know, Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place between 15 – 21 May 2023. This year’s theme is ‘anxiety’ and several free courses are on offer to enable us to support our colleagues and residents experiencing poor mental health due to several factors. Please help us to disseminate the following training opportunities:

1. Loss and Bereavement Awareness training

This webinar will help you feel more confident speaking to people experiencing bereavement, including signposting to relevant support. The course is open to anyone who works or volunteers in the statutory, voluntary or community sectors in Islington or Camden.

Monday 15 May, 12.30pm – 1.45pm

If you can’t make the training, visit Cruse Bereavement Support to register for future bereavement awareness training. Cruse Bereavement Support website has useful tips when talking to a bereaved person.

2. Adult Mental Health First Aid course

The internationally accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course commences on 15 May 2023.

MHFA provides an excellent opportunity to equip you with the skills to recognise those experiencing poor mental health and how to provide help on a first-aid basis. On completion, you will be a certified Mental Health First Aider.

Training takes place over four live sessions delivered through instructor-led training, group discussions, and individual group activities:

  • Monday 15 May 2023, 1pm – 4.20pm (3 hours 20 mins)
  • Wednesday, 17 May 2023, 1pm – 4.45pm (3 hours 45 mins)
