It is Volunteer’s Week 2021! A time to say thank you!

The Mayor of Islington Cllr Gallagher, Jeremy Corbyn MP for Islington North and others TBC will acknowledge the role of your volunteers over the last year and thank them.

Voluntary Action Islington exists to encourage and support individuals and community organisations to make a positive difference in the Borough.

Each year we support and encourage Voluntary and Community Sector groups in Islington to celebrate and recognise their volunteers efforts during Volunteer’s Week (and beyond!)

There has been a huge increase in the number of people registering to volunteer during the pandemic, over 2300 through the Volunteer Centre in Islington plus 100s more people that have volunteered informally as part of their local mutual aid groups. They have helped with a great many tasks from writing letters, to befriending phone calls, shopping and vaccine. These volunteers represent every part of our local community and have helped to forge stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods and saved many lives. We would like to recognise and thank the volunteers who have helped make a difference to Islington residents over the last 12 – 15 months and invite you.

As meeting in public will still be limited we would like to thank volunteers who have supported organisations across Islington over the past year by holding this Thank You event.
