Imece celebrates 30 years

IMECE Women’s Centre is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary this year and this month a reception was held at the House of Lords, hosted by Meral Ece, to mark the occasion. IMECE, a member of Voluntary Action Islington, was formed by a group of women to provide services to address the needs of Turkish speaking women living in London. It now supports over five thousand women every year and we were pleased to be represented at the reception, to learn about the history of the organisation, see the new film about it’s work, and hear the inspirational speech from former staff member of Voluntary Action Islington and current Director of IMECE, Feride Baycan.
