Voluntary Action Islington Co-Produces New VCFSE Strategy with London Met and Islington Council

Voluntary Action Islington is proud to partner with London Metropolitan University and Islington Council to co-produce a new strategy for Islington’s Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. This collaborative initiative, launched at our Spring Conference in March 2025, is being delivered through London Met’s London Met Lab and Centre for Applied Research in Empowering Society (CARES).
The strategy aims to strengthen the role of the VCFSE sector in tackling inequalities and improving lives across the borough. By combining the expertise of local organisations, academic insight, and council leadership, we are working together to ensure the sector is equipped to meet current challenges—including the cost-of-living crisis—and to build a more equitable future for all Islington residents.
Navinder Kaur, Chief Executive of Voluntary Action Islington, emphasised: “Islington’s VCFSE is the backbone to Islington’s diverse communities and plays a unique role in tackling inequality. We are looking forward to exploring with our VCFSE and council colleagues what is working well and not so well, and what can we do to radically shift the dial.”
