Join refugee week celebrations!

Refugee week is taking place from 19-25th June and this year’s theme is ‘compassion.’ To mark the week, the council are organising two events to support the community and celebrate the contribution made by refugees and migrants in Islington.

Monday 19th June – Job and Employment Support Event, Islington Assembly Hall, 2pm to 5.30pm

People will have the opportunity to engage with local employers and recruiters, to network and obtain advice on preparing for interviews and job applications. They also be offering the chance to get a professional photo taken for LinkedIn profiles.

Wednesday 21st June – Community Celebration Event, Islington Assembly Hall, 10am to 3pm

Musical performances, dance and the experiences of people settling in Islington will take centre-stage at the main refugee week event, complete with a wonderful lunch for all.
