The main purpose of the post:

This new 1-year post is funded by Islington Council to support the development of the 3 Young Islington Locality Networks (North, Central, South) as part of Islington Fairer Together.

The purpose of the role is to widen the engagement and participation of Islington’s diverse Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector (VCFSE) in the 3 Young Islington Locality Networks and the Universal Youth Work Offer. The aim of the Locality Networks and the Universal Youth Offer is to improve access to services by:

  • Engaging young people who have previously not accessed universal youth services
  • More directly addressing inequalities e.g. accessibility for young people with disabilities, and from LGBTQ+ communities
  • Attracting those that are vulnerable to poorer outcomes
  • Attracting those who are living in more deprived wards or households
  • Reaching further into Somali, Turkish and Bangladeshi communities
  • Better utilising spaces available to engage young people
  • Driving the quality and consistency of the youth work across the model and assisting a better understanding, articulation and communication of its impact and outcomes
