VAI is seeking a Capacity Building Officer
We are seeking a Capacity Building Officer to support voluntary organisations in Islington to develop their volunteer recruitment and management processes.
One third of Islington’s residents of working age do not work, and are more likely to be unemployed for a longer period than residents of other London boroughs. The aim of this programme is to increase the employability of Islington residents who are furthest from the labour market and experience multiple barriers to employment. The Capacity Building Officer will work with local voluntary sector organisations to develop volunteer roles that assist residents to develop their skills and experience.
This post is responsible for supporting and developing organisations and volunteer managers in Islington by promoting and encouraging good practice in the recruitment and management of volunteers. The post holder will support organisations to create sustainable placements for volunteers who experience barriers to employment. They will offer support, training, tools and advice to organisations enabling them to be more inclusive within their volunteer roles, while improving the effectiveness of their programmes.
We are an Investors in People employer and the accredited Volunteer Centre for Islington.
