Islington Council to continue a community grants programme
Islington Council have announced that they will be continuing a community grants programme over the next four years, and that this is one of their priorities. Full details are included in the Council budget:
Applications for the next round of the VCS grants programme will open on Friday 22nd January 2016.
Mike Sherriff, Chief Executive of Voluntary Action Islington said:
“We welcome the fact that, at a time of huge cuts to Local Authority budgets Islington Council is recognising the vital work undertaken by local voluntary and community organisations. It is particularly encouraging that the Council want to work in partnership with local community organisations and to support organisations using a grants programme. Grants are far more accessible to smaller local organisations than tendering for contracts”.
