Our Chief Executive, Mike Sherriff, to leave

After over nine years in post Mike Sherriff has resigned as Chief Executive of Voluntary Action Islington and will be leaving as soon as a successor is in post, early next year.

Mike said: “It has been a great privilege to work with the creative, committed and diverse volunteers and community organisations in Islington.  I have also been very fortunate to have worked with a dedicated and skilled group of trustees, staff and volunteers at Voluntary Action Islington itself”.

Phil Kelly, Chair of Voluntary Action Islington said: “ We very much appreciate all that Mike has done for the voluntary sector in Islington, and beyond. We wish him every success for the future”

The trustees have agreed plans to recruit a new Chief Executive and Mike will stay to support the transition and handover to a successor, early in the New Year. His own plans are to pursue other interests from spring/summer 2016.
