Working with Volunteer Centre Camden, we held an Autumn 2022 Volunteering Fair.

Here is a list of the organisations who attended the event. They are looking for volunteers in Islington and Camden. To find current opportunities online, please press the link below.

Homestart Camden

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support, helping families with young children through their challenging times.

Training Link

Training Link (TL) is a basic skills community learning centre in Somers Town in the London Borough of Camden, close to the British Library. They run courses which can help people find work, or improve their basic skills in English and using computers.

Age UK Islington

Age UK Islington is a charity which uses innovative techniques to provide support to people over the age of 16, in the Borough of Islington, enabling them to use self-help approaches to manage their own health and wellbeing.

AFK – Working with Disability

AFK (formerly Action For Kids) is a national charity supporting disabled children, young people and their families. They  help prepare young people with learning disabilities and autism for life after school through their accredited education, training and work experience programmes.

Royal Trinity Hospice

Royal Trinity Hospice is the local hospice for south west and central London. They provide free specialist palliative and end of life care.

The Access Project

The Access Project believes that every young person, regardless of background, should be able to make the most of education. They work with students from disadvantaged backgrounds to unlock their potential by placing mentors in schools to work with students so they have the knowledge and support to make strong university application and by training tutors to boost grades.

Stuart Low Trust

The Stuart Low Trust provide safe spaces and community activities focusing on arts, nature and wellbeing, including out of hours.

Action Tutoring

Action Tutoring is a charity that supports disadvantaged young people to achieve academically, with a view to enabling them to progress in education, employment or training.

Herpes Viruses Association and Shingles Support Society

The Herpes Viruses Association helps to improve life for people with herpes simplex by helping them to understand the condition and put it into its proper perspective as a common skin complaint.

Children Hope Forever

Children Hope Forever is a London based Social enterprise dedicated to supporting young people aged 4-25. Their goal is to give young people the tools and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

Islington Bereavement Service

St Joseph’s Hospice is one of the oldest and largest hospices in the UK. They provide, high quality, specialist palliative care and support to people in our local community who have a life-limiting illness.

Literacy Pirates

Literacy Pirates work with children aged 9-12 whose teachers think they would benefit from extra help. The Young Pirates join us after-school, every week. Sessions are run in fantastical spaces in Hackney, Haringey and digitally online.

North London Cares

North London Cares brings older and younger people together – to share time, laughter, new experiences and friendship – so that everyone can feel part of our changing city, rather than left behind by it.

ScotsCare

ScotsCare provide comprehensive support for all first and second generation Scots and their children in and around Greater London.

The Old Fire Station is a warm and welcoming community centre just off Holloway Road.

Friends of Moorfields

The Friends of Moorfields is a registered charity supporting the patients and staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital, a centre of excellence for the specialist treatment of eye diseases.
