Women making a difference: Social Action in Islington

03/11/2015 @ 09:30 - 14:00

Islington’s Children & Young People’s Voluntary Sector Forum will be holding a half-day women’s conference on Tuesday November 3rd 2015.

Women have been at the helm of social change and tackling injustice. In Islington women have been at the forefront of the strong, vibrant and innovative voluntary sector in Islington, challenging our politicians, creating new opportunities and developing and defending crucial services.
As we experience further political change and immense challenges that impact on the lives of children and young people, this work becomes even more essential.
Islington Children and Young People’s Voluntary Sector Forum are hosting this  Conference to illustrate and highlight the remarkable impact women have had on our borough and beyond, and the difference that their passion, dedication and commitment has made to the environment and lives of children and young people in Islington.
We will celebrate the achievements of women in the voluntary sector, connect people with each other, and inspire young women to see what is possible to achieve by activism and involvement.

Please join us on 3 November 2015.  Our keynote speaker will be Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty and there will be several other local speakers and young people’s involvement.
A full buffet lunch will be provided.  Early registration is advised due to limited places.
