Risk Assessment

22/05/2014 @ 10:00 - 16:00

This course aims to enable those running community buildings to comply with the law and to understand how to carry out a risk assessment.

The Level 2 Award in Risk Assessment (QCF) is designed to be an introduction to the principles of Risk Assessment. It covers why risk assessments are necessary, the legal requirements relating to risk assessments and simple processes for carrying out a risk assessment. It is suitable for candidates working in any environment who need to be more risk aware by raising their knowledge of risk in the workplace and basic things they can do to control it.

What you will achieve: You will understand how to comply with the law, how to apply risk assessment techniques, how to identify hazards and categorise, evaluate and mitigate risk.

You can achieve level 2 accreditation. For those who wish to become accredited: This qualification is assessed through a 20-question, multiple-choice question examination. The duration of the examination is 30 minutes. Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 13 out of 20.

Who should attend: Managers and other members of staff responsible for carrying out risk assessments in their organisations, and managers and trustees who are responsible for ensuring that these are done to an appropriate standard.
Preference will be given to those who wish to become accredited.

To secure your place, please complete the application form and send it to Maria Gonzalez at by Thursday 8th May. We expect these courses to be popular, so earlier application is advised!

This course is free to Islington organisations, but we are afraid that we have to make a charge of £25 for organisations based outside Islington.

If meeting the fee for a course is a problem for your organisation, please contact Janet Keighley by email at VAI to discuss this, and she will try to help
