Islington Voluntary Sector Conference 2015

09/07/2015 @ 17:30 - 20:30

Pulling Together: funding resources and collaboration

Join us at the 2015 conference, to talk about how we can make the most of Islington’s diverse and committed voluntary sector – buildings, volunteers, networks, staff, trustees, relationships – and how we can get more – thinking creatively to bring in new funds and support.

Collaboration and sustainability are key elements in the work of Children England. Our main speaker, Kathy Evans, Children England Chief Executive, will encourage us to take hold of these opportunities.

The conference will also be addressed by:

  • Cllr. Richard Watts, Leader of Islington Council
  • Cllr. Asima Shaikh, Executive Member for Economic and Community Development

But the main contribution will be yours in a range of discussions on specific issues (details TBC ). These will be the basis for recommendations for action through the following year.

This year we’re shaking things up with a summer, evening event kindly hosted by London Metropolitan University. The conference has been brought forward from November so that our discussions will be of more substantial help to organisations and residents. Public spending is continuing to decrease and this will be an opportunity to consider how we can work together to diversify, develop and maximise the impact of future funding.

We will be able to reimburse costs if you need to use a childcare service in order to attend. Please contact for more details.
