Health and safety risk management

Who is it for?
This is an introductory course to health and safety for committee members, staff and volunteers who need to learn more about health and safety in the work place and how to minimise risk for their organisation.

What is it about?
This course will cover the key points of health and safety legislation relevant to smaller voluntary sector organisations. Participants will learn how to carry out a risk assessment for their organisation or for a one­off event, such as a conference. Frameworks and templates for developing health and safety policies will be provided. This course will also incorporate health and safety issues for organisations being run by volunteers from home.

What will I get out of it?

  • Up to date knowledge of current health and safety legislation and how it affects your organisation
  • A model health and safety policy
  • Knowledge of how and when to carry out a risk assessment
  • Information about health and safety issues for volunteers and working from home

Cost
Free for all voluntary and community organisations in Islington.
