Good Conversations in Challenging Times – Islington Vaccination Volunteers

May 5 @ 18:00 - 20:00

This course has been designed for Islington volunteers supporting the vaccination programme in the borough who are in direct contact with the public, who wish to develop or sharpen their conversational skills and knowledge of basic health and wellbeing advice, and who need to support people to be aware of (and adhere to) COVID19 advice and guidance.

Covid-19 has meant that many more frontline workers and volunteers are having to deal with issues that are outside of their comfort zone. There is a great deal of fear and anxiety among residents about Covid-related issues. These issues are addressed in this online course.

Objectives

  1. Increase awareness, understanding, trust in and adoption of key public health measures and behaviours to prevent COVID-19 transmission
  2. Use a variety of conversational approaches to start conversations and explore peoples’ concerns
  3. Encourage and support the use of resources and services

Course content

  • Public attitudes and behaviours relating to Covid-19
  • What does a good conversation look like?
  • Key skills for a good conversation and top tips
  • Resources to support good conversations
