Directing residents to adult learning or support to find work

21/01/2019 @ 14:00 - 16:00

Islington has a strong, diverse and growing economy. There are 18,000 businesses based in the borough and 90 organisations that offer support and advice to residents who are looking for work. Yet many residents who want work – and whose lives would be better if they had an income – feel ‘stuck’ and unable to take steps towards better skills or a more secure income.
This session will give you an overview of Islington’s economy and how you can help residents get ‘unstuck’ and take advantage of the employment and opportunities that the borough has to offer.

This workshop is part of the advice training programme organised by VAI and Islington Council, in partnership with the Islington Strategic Advice Partnership for front line workers who are not advice specialists but would like to increase their knowledge of key areas of advice. This programme is offering a range of advice training sessions. Details of each training session can be found here.
