BME & Refugee Partners in Volunteering

An invitation to explore how we can work together to better support and develop volunteers, enabling genuine capacity building for organisations whilst developing the skills & confidence of your volunteer force.
Who is it for:
This session is for BME and Refugee organisations and organisations working with BME and Refugee volunteers in Islington who:
- Involve volunteers but have limited capacity to manage them
- Want to provide a richer development experience for volunteers which they can they bring back to the organisation
- Want to find innovative ways to recruit volunteers
- Want to explore new partnerships with other organisations
What will happen:
The session will discuss exciting ways for organisations to work together in a changing climate to make the most of resources and volunteer skills and experience, such as:
- Collaborative training – Joint training where different organisations can contribute and share their different expertise and upskill their volunteers.
- Joint-volunteering projects to support a wide a range of clients from different organisations.
- Pioneering a volunteering support network for North London.
- Explore the potential of creating a specialist pool of volunteers, which can be shared between participating organisations. This gives opportunity for volunteers to learn from each other, and for organisations too!
- Partnership building – tips and tools for effective partnership working
