A crash course in cash flow

Who is it for?
This is a course for all those who are involved in creating and overseeing budgets and cash flow projections for the financial year. It is particularly useful for treasurers and those seeking to become a treasurers or for coordinators responsible for cash flow projection in their organisations. Volunteers wishing to learn more about finance are welcome to attend.
This course builds upon skills and knowledge developed in the Bite-sized budgeting and full cost recovery course.

What is it about?
This session aims to ensure that everyone involved with cash flow projection in your organisation has a better understanding of how it works, including common mistakes and pitfalls. It will cover cash flow preparation, and allocation of costs across projects. The session will also look at what to do when things go wrong. This is a bite­sized learning session, which will involve a presentation and question and answers and practical exercises, where possible.

What will I get out of it?

  • A better understanding of how cash flow forecasts work
  • The ability to guard against common mistakes made when completing cash flow projections
  • Knowledge and skills around cash flow forecasts and what to do if things go wrong
